Description
The A7 - Cold JacketAdvanced is designed to provide protection and warmth in extreme cold environments. This jacket is built with a DWR coated nylon ripstop shell over Climashield® APEX Insulation. The APEX insulation keeps you warm, retains heat while wet and dries much faster than down. The nylon ripstop shell repels rain and wind. The A7 - Cold Jacket Advanced features Cordura® nylon reinforcement in the seat and elbows for protection against rough, extreme cold environments. Features an oversized fit to be worn over layers A1-A5 while static in extreme cold climates.

Lifesaver
I was issued this parka along with the pants for testing. Back then the parka didn't have the name tape or rank velcro but was otherwise the exact same. I credit this parka and pants to be the only reason I'm still alive after being stranded outside in -70 degrees Fahrenheit weather for over twelve hours. Hopefully I'll never experience cold like that again, but it's comforting to know what this cold weather gear is capable of.

Perfect fit and very comfortable!
I bought this jacket with the intent of being able to either wear this over an OCP uniform top and its size is exactly the kind of fit that I had hoped for! The Velcro is perfect for wearing the appropriate patches/name tapes/rank to avoid the good ol’ chewing out at a shoppette from a disgruntled Sergeant Major! Right out of the package it was very comfortable and it feels like you’re wearing a comfy insulated blanket! Thank you guys so much for such all around solid jacket!

This is an amazing jacket! It is a true Level 7 ECWCS jacket created for the US military as part of their cold/extreme cold weather system. The jacket is built amazingly well. Remember that because this jacket is a part of a layering system, it is larger than normal and meant to fit over a base layer, a fleece top, and a soft shell fleece lined jacket, all of which Beyond clothing sells. This is the real deal! Highly recommended! 👍🏼

Perform as promised and then some
Bought these pants on sale to try a different option from the looser technical pants I’ve purchased here that need hemming. The waistband is stretchy and sturdy and there is a drawstring cord, but it fits and looks better. (Waistband will be a limiting factor to get the proper sizing). The legs taper and look like modern joggers. The ankle cuffs are a little stretchy but you may have some difficulty adjusting socks etc.
They are definitely 3 season pants at the very least and I can wear them for casual or physical activities. They are quite breathable but provide good wind and water resistance. Minimal bulk and lightweight, but the material feels quite tough and doesn’t seem like it will wear down or pile. Can wear it multiple times without needing to wash.
Recently, I forgot my neoprene pants for paddleboarding in the winter (high 50s water and air temp). I keep a pair of these pants around and they saved me! Wore neoprene shorts and these pants over them. I’m impressed w how dry I was even when stepping calf deep in water briefly and getting constantly splashed in the wind and waves. Did not feel “wet” at all!
I had bought a second pair already prior to this, but it is definitely an impressive piece for such a great price!

Great jacket, was way thinner/lighter then expected but works as an awesome waterproof jacket. I use this for one of my main pieces of gear when hiking and it has been doing it job very well. Would definitely recommend to friends/family.
