🚨 A very trusted source told me a few days before #Cannes, a top influencer marketing platform got hacked and thousands of sensitive creator data got compromised (including but not limited to SSNs, bank information, home addresses, etc -- all the things influencers put on their W9 and to get paid). The platform itself was also down for several days, potentially from a DDoS attack. I'm still verifying the information with some folks I know from my cybersecurity days before naming the platform... will share more details as they come. In the meantime if you are a marketer or influencer impacted by this, DM me.#influencermarketing

Curious. What preventive solutions do you have in mind so that something like this won't happen again?

Suddenly my feed is full of windows kernel experts, product experts and cybersecurity experts. These folks will be just waiting for something to happen so that they get their content and explain how they would have done it better.I believe even the biggest systems fail at times, catastrophes do happen and lessons are learned on the way. What I do not like is a whole bunch of so called LinkedIn Top Voice influencer's creating the same content pretending to be experts on the topic and how such a market leader should have done things. #crowdstrike #influencers #linkedin

True story:48 hours ago, I followed 5 cybersecurity "influencers." My LinkedIn feed is now dramatically different. The LARGE MAJORITY of my feed is now security-centric topics. I already had plenty of connections with Red Canary teammates, MuleSoft peeps who went into cybersecurity, and human connections made from 15 years of living and working in the Bay Area. Something about following those handful of influencers immediately tipped the scales.NOTE: Previously, the majority of my feed was about RevOps and customer data (see: Syncari), but that was the result of 3+ years of effort 😃 New industry, new echo chamber. Now available in near-real-time.Be careful out there.

Many influencers suggest that you should not commit your API keys and secrets in general.I'll have to disagree on this one. If you really want to ship secure software, you have to include the secrets in your git repos and make them public. This way the community will be able to test the security of your software and report any issues.git add secrets == save money on security team#joke
